Production Scheduler Job Summary





The Production Scheduler plans, coordinates, and manages plant production schedules to meet customer demand and on-time delivery goals. Working closely with Plant Management, Manufacturing, Sales, and Materials, this role balances demand, capacity, and materials in a built-to-order (BTO) manufacturing environment. The Scheduler develops and maintains machine and work center schedules, manages day-to-day production workflow, supports MRP accuracy, and drives continuous improvement across planning, forecasting, and inventory management processes.


Key Responsibilities




Develop and manage master production schedules aligned with the Sales & Operations Plan Balance demand, capacity, labor, and equipment across work centers Coordinate materials and lead times with Purchasing and Materials to support production plans Ensure on-time delivery performance and minimize late shipments Maintain and improve forecasts for short- and long-term material planning Optimize equipment utilization, changeovers, and workflow in a BTO environment Monitor inventory levels, shortages, and MRP exceptions; propose corrective actions Communicate schedules, work orders, and priorities to shop floor and production leadership Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and trial builds Analyze planning and scheduling issues and lead continuous improvement using Lean principles

Requirements




3+ years of experience in production scheduling or inventory control in manufacturing Strong background in BTO or fast-paced manufacturing environments Proficiency with MRP systems (QAD preferred) and Microsoft Office Knowledge of supply chain, materials management, and production planning principles APICS certification preferred (or working toward) Degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, or related field

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000.
