The Production Manager reports directly to the PRM/PRMC and is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities/duties undertaken by Wasaya Airways are completed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and the Canadian Aviation Regulations.
This position is a one week on / one week off
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Overseeing all Maintenance Staff at each location (Heavy Maintenance included)
Conducting Base visits and completing reports for each base every 60 days
Performing or delegating the performance of the Thunder Bay (YQT) Base Engineer in the event of their absence
Monitoring parts that are on order
Controlling and generating shift schedules for all maintenance personnel, ensuring appropriate manpower levels are maintained. Expected to strategically staff all maintenance.
Reviewing and approving scheduling changes for maintenance personnel
Review and approve maintenance employee vacation submissions/requests.
Monitoring all required maintenance training. Making sure all employees are up to date on necessary training and are trained accordingly and on time.
Routinely updating the PRM/PRMC with the status of all pertinent training
Overseeing the Special Projects Engineers
Controlling special projects which may occur at the various bases.
Working with approved DAR's on aircraft modifications and repairs
Reviewing customer invoicing for accuracy
Ensuring that all paperwork is carried out on newly hired employees and terminations.
Ensuring that contract maintenance billing is accurate and forwarded to accounting for processing.
Completes payroll summary for all Maintenance Employees
Foster a healthy working environment and promote a positive climate within the workplace.
Perform and uphold Wasaya's Customer Care Commitments to both internal and external customers.
Any other related duties as assigned
Minimum Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Hold a valid Transport Canada License for a minimum of five years.
Previous supervisory experience (within the maintenance/production industry)
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Strong communication skills and problem-solving skills
Strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills.
Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.
Solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization.
Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
Proven mechanical abilities, and strong working knowledge of aircraft mechanical application and repair techniques.
Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
Experience with routine aircraft maintenance operations
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
Able to work well under pressure.
Excellent computer skills, MS-Office preferable, proficient in use of internet and email
Able to work in a team environment, as well as unsupervised.
Strong attention to detail
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always.
The ability to communicate in Oji-Cree or Ojibway is an asset.
Previous airline experience is an asset.
Experience with and/or knowledge of First Nations Organizations is an asset.
Working Conditions
Occasional travel is required.
Weekend and evening work may be required.

Ability to lift or move up to 50lbs.
Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
