Production Manager
to join our growing team and help oversee daily manufacturing operations, procurement, and production planning at our Burnaby facility.
Responsibilities
Inventory Control
Oversee receipt, inspection, and organization of incoming shipments and materials
Conduct basic QC checks on incoming parts (visual inspection, measurement sampling)
Maintain and update inventory spreadsheets and BOMs
Remove obsolete or scrap materials and coordinate proper disposal
Ensure accurate physical and digital tracking of components
Vendor and Supply Chain Management
Purchase all electronics necessary for manufacturing, calibration and testing.
Coordinate orders for custom, off-the-shelf (OTS), and consumable components
Manage purchase orders, payments, and on-time deliveries
Communicate RFQs and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
Identify alternate suppliers based on specifications, lead times, and cost
Coordinate sample evaluations for potential new vendors
Purchasing Coordination
Collaborate with management to forecast and plan upcoming production runs
Maintain sufficient inventory to support production timelines
Communicate and align purchasing decisions with engineering and management teams
Electronics Procurement
Coordinate with PCB manufacturers and contract manufacturers for PCB procurement and assembly
Manage component sourcing and logistics with local and international (China/Taiwan/HK) suppliers
Plan proactively for long lead-time electronic components
Support electronics procurement documentation and recordkeeping
Production Floor Management
Ensure production floor is organized and equipped with required jigs, parts, and tools
Distribute and maintain production documentation and work instructions
Supervise production staff to ensure adherence to processes, safety, and quality standards
Oversee training of new and temporary staff
Monitor staffing levels and schedule to meet production targets
Process Improvement & Coordination
Collect and analyze manufacturing process data to identify inefficiencies
Implement inventory and production process improvements
Collaborate with engineering to identify design enhancements and jigs that improve production flow
Support small-scale assembly processes (e.g., cable assembly, soldering, calibration, QA testing) as needed
Qualifications
Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Production Manager or in a similar manufacturing/fabrication role
Strong background in production planning, procurement, and vendor coordination
Experience managing inventory systems and BOM documentation
Familiarity with electronics manufacturing and assembly processes (PCB, cabling, soldering, etc.)
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple projects, vendors, and timelines simultaneously
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for inventory and procurement tracking
Bonus Points For:
Experience with startup or small-scale production environments
Knowledge of electronics calibration, QA, or testing procedures
Background in tool manufacturing, consumer electronics, or hardware startups
