On behalf of our client, EXPRESS EMPLOYMENT PROFESSIONALS is seeking to fill the position of Production Manager.

As a Production Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leadership and administration of plant operations. As a key member of the plant management team, the Production Manager will build and maintain relationships with plant staff and, in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Lead, ensure implementation and quality assurance programs, planned and preventative maintenance programs, and all Health & Safety initiatives within the facility.

Duties:

• Ensure appropriate production staffing levels to meet requirements of facility (3 shifts, 5 to 6 days per week and production staff vacation scheduleing, timely posting of work schedule)
• Meet regularly with production management team / production staff; facilitate resolution of issues/problems between departments
• Scheduling production around maintenance requirements
• Coordinate with Order Desk / Feed Plan Coordinator for production forecasting (like feeds/longer runs)
• Maintain safe workplace for all employees including training of all production employees
• Operating within company policies to manage performance corrections
• Monitor production facility performance against set key performance indicators
• Ensure plant and property are clean, tidy and in good repair
• On call - after hours contract for plant/equipment issues

Qualifications:

• College diploma in engineering, industrial technology, agriculture or related field, or equivalent experience
• Agricultural background with knowledge of feed ingredients and medications, good manufacturing practices and mechanical aptitude
• Effective leadership skills with a strong focus on plant and business processes
• Ability to identify key issues, overcome internal challenges or obstacles creatively and strategically
• A clear and and solid understanding of personal policies, practices, procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization
• A high level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and execution skills
• On call availability for after-hours production related and customer service emergencies
