Summary

We are currently seeking a Production Manager to organize and oversee the manufacturing of goods. This role will ultimately be responsible for the smooth running of all production lines and the quality of output.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure team compliance with all standard operating procedures (SOP's), quality and safety policies
  • Maintain product quality and sanitation standards
  • Optimize operational efficiencies to support the production, warehousing, and shipping of products
  • Identify and oversee operational improvements necessary to deliver on the operational plan and capacity planning
  • Ensure cost performance gaps are identified, action plans are developed, and resources are properly allocated
  • Track operational output measures (i.e. efficiency, yield loss, product quality, inventory accuracy, transactional accuracy), anticipating and correcting trends which would compromise the achievement of financial targets
  • Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
  • Deliver effective change leadership to drive business changes while minimizing people impact
  • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to assist the team to solve operational issues
  • Build and maintain staffing schedule to execute on production schedule within labour budget
  • Motivate team members to achieve daily, weekly and monthly production and performance targets
  • Flex production plans on a shift by shift basis to prevent issues and increase operational efficiencies
  • Optimize input and packaging material used to minimize loss
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts and procedures
Experience / Education
  • Ideal candidate will have relevant post-secondary education (engineering, business, operations management or similar)
  • 2+ years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably CPG or food manufacturing
  • You should possess strong skills, knowledge and capability in manufacturing, project management, leadership, and statistics/logical problem-solving
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to encourage and get results through mentoring others
  • Proven ability to coach, facilitate, and inspire team-building skills
  • Must demonstrate ability to schedule employees and production shifts within a fast-paced multi-shift environment
  • Results oriented with ability to multi-task in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
  • Well-developed written and communication skills, and ability to exercise timely and good judgment in day-to-day business decisions
  • Must be prepared to substitute for Managers and Supervisors' absences as needed
  • Health Canada security clearance an asset
  • Coach teams to demonstrate continuous improvement in efficiencies and cost savings initiatives
