The Graphic Designer works to complete creative and/or reproductive electronic artwork. The Graphic Designer will use extensive knowledge of specialized design concepts, media and software tools to develop comprehensive layouts and produce artwork for manufacturing according to the company's standard work procedures. He/she has to have a strong understanding of etching, engraving, lasering procedures.
Core responsibilities include:
Work closely with internal teams to complete all graphic content and creative solutions that align with brand guidelines and client expectations
Ensure that all graphic content is optimized across all channels and that all files are proofed and correctly formatted for optimal reproduction
Follow production schedules and workflow for the entire design process
Integrate multimedia concepts with technical graphic design elements as directed
Develop and update specifications and standards for graphic design processes
Follow all safety protocols and workplace policies
Support new product development and continuous improvement by integrating tools (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, etc.) into processes
Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of related experience in graphic design, communications or marketing
Extensive skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), CorelDraw, PDF form creation and optimization, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to quickly learn and apply new software
Strong understanding of design principles and conceptual methodologies
A keen eye for visual aesthetic and branding; good knowledge of color systems, artwork preparation and the print production process
Ability to be flexible and quickly re-prioritize and react positively with short notice of changes
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to ability to analyze and interpret customers' requirements
Ongoing learner with keen interest in graphic arts
Working Conditions:
General office hours Monday - Friday 8:00am -4:30pm
Mostly working on a computer using various software programs
Data entry and sitting for extended periods of time
Fast paced position with plenty of interruptions
Occasional overtime may be offered
