Being a

Production Engineer

As a

Production Engineer,

you'll be responsible for analyzing production performance issues and recommending viable solutions. You'll design and implement equipment and process improvements, while maintaining control systems to ensure long-term performance. You'll also take an active role in equipment and technology selection and support the implementation of chosen solutions.


Your day-to-day will include:




Diagnosing manufacturing, layout, or process issues and identifying improvement opportunities while engaging key stakeholders; Performing analyses required for the acquisition of systems, equipment, and manufacturing processes (industrial trend monitoring, technical specifications, RSI/ROI, machine capacity, process variation, OEE, etc.); Meeting with suppliers to identify required material resources; Leading automation, equipment improvement, and production cell layout projects--from analysis and design to installation, validation testing, commissioning, training, and performance follow-up to meet company objectives; Participating in various process and equipment improvement initiatives and facilitating improvement workshops (Ishikawa, SMED, Kaizen, 6S, etc.); Proposing Health & Safety improvements and promoting best practices in workplace safety; Fostering effective interdepartmental communication and acting as an agent of change within production; Actively contributing to the product development process and defining manufacturing strategies to achieve project and business goals.

You're the person we're looking for if you have:




A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automated Production, or a related field; 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment; Membership in the Ordre des ingenieurs du Quebec (an asset); Knowledge of SolidWorks CAD software; Functional bilingualism (spoken and written French, and reading English - technical documentation in English); Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; Autonomy and sound judgment; A creative and innovative mindset; Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes; Knowledge of automation (an asset); Lean Six Sigma, Green Belt, or Black Belt certification (an asset).
