Position Summary





We are seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer to support the successful execution of large-scale, cross-functional manufacturing projects across multiple locations. This role will primarily involve supporting site development and production expansion initiatives in the U.S. and Mexico, working closely with R&D, operations, and engineering teams to deliver project outcomes on time and within budget.


The ideal candidate will bring 5-7 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing operations, process optimization, layout design, and project coordination. Experience in AutoCAD, lean manufacturing, and value stream mapping is essential, along with strong communication and project leadership skills.

Responsibilities



Support ramp-up of new production facilities in Mexico and the U.S. (e.g., Greenfield, South Carolina). Support Supply Chain set up of components for new projects. Develop and implement detailed manufacturing layouts, floor plans, equipment placement, and workstation flow using AutoCAD. Conduct value stream mapping and process analysis to identify efficiency improvements and production bottlenecks. Build and maintain project schedules and timelines, tracking milestones and deliverables using project management tools. Facilitate regular project meetings with cross-functional stakeholders (engineering, operations, suppliers, site teams). Assist in business case development and basic financial cost modeling for new operations and capital investments. Support machinery specification, vendor interaction, and purchase planning. Coordinate remotely with multi-site teams; hold team members accountable for timelines and tasks. Maintain documentation related to layouts, technical drawings, site setup, and SOPs. Present project updates to senior management, highlighting risks, progress, and recommendations. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience



Education & Certification



Bachelor's degree in industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering PMP certification or working towards it.

Experience



5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with hands-on experience in: Facility layout planning and machinery setup Project coordination or management (remote and cross-border teams) Process improvement and lean manufacturing principles Familiarity with ERP or MES systems. Experience working in multicultural or global engineering environments. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

Travel



Ability to travel up to 40% to the U.S. and Mexico (typically 1 week/month).



Key Skills



Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production workflows, and value stream mapping. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Strong organizational and influencing skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Spanish language skills (not mandatory but considered a plus).
