What you'll be doing
We are seeking a self-motivated Electrical Engineer (Manufacturing). Reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for:
Developing robust hardware and software solutions to be used in the manufacture and testing of Innovasea products
Improving test coverage, automation, and quality of processes used to produce products
Collaborating with production operators to identify areas of improvement for production tooling and systems
Supporting the process of new product introductions through design-for-manufacturing analysis
Spearheading continuous improvement projects for existing production lines and processes
Enhancing and maintaining existing production systems to current development standards
Quickly diagnosing and resolving manufacturing challenges as they relate to production equipment and software
Creating and updating design documentation as it pertains to production tooling
Continuous learning of relevant technologies
What you'll need to succeed
Candidates are required to have a bachelor's degree in electrical / computer engineering or equivalent.
Solid understanding of hardware design principles
Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles
Familiarity using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, etc.
Aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting
Experience developing .NET applications using Visual Studio
Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities and constraints
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience designing software to interface test and automation equipment
Experience developing embedded software systems
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and how to apply it in real situations
Experience using git version control and Atlassian JIRA/Confluence
Eligible for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia as E.I.T. or P.Eng.
