Buyers work to ensure optimum quality, pricing and delivery of components. Responsible for the development and maintenance of a specific group of commodities and vendors and is continuously focused on reducing the total cost of the finished products. The Buyer utilizes thorough analyses combined with experience, judgment and skilled negotiation to accomplish departmental goals and to meet performance targets set by management. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage assigned commodity
Communicate & make decisions with Engineering team for deviations, specs changes, plating, raw materials
Communicate with vendors ( 10-15 vendors)
RFX preparation and analysis
Ordering and following-up of parts for production etc
Contract management - Manage the current contract template (Supplier requirement manual, Development Agreement, Letter of Intent, Limits of Liability) and its adaptation towards current reality in the market.
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Post-secondary education in supply chain preferred
Experience working with a large number of SKUs
Minimum of 2 years of sourcing/purchasing experience
Some technical "white-space:pre-wrap;margin-left:0.50in;text-indent:-0.25in;text-align:left;margin-top:0.00in;margin-bottom:0.00in;"> Experience or some knowledge of metal plating is a definite asset
Well-organized and task oriented
Ability to prioritize things in a fast changing environment
Experience in RFx and analyzing offers from the vendor
Strong negotiating skills
Contract management experience in international contracts\' reading and revisions
Ability to make a quick decisions and to multi-task multiple jobs
MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes), any ERP systems
Understanding of KANBAN
