The successful candidate will work closely with the development team; planning, designing, and executing manual and automated tests for robotic camera systems in the Ross Robotics product line. The candidate will also be responsible for implementing test lab best practices. The position will primarily be focused on the testing of mechanical and electrical products but will also cover software and cross-discipline projects. This position is located at our Ottawa Research & Development facility.

What the job is all about: Test Planning: Under the supervision of the Product Operations Manager
Assist the Product Operations Manager in determining work priorities, assigning tasks, creating schedules and monitoring progress
Support Agile development methodologies including the Modified Agile for Hardware Development (MAHD) Framework
Attend Product Requirements review and participate in technical debates
Participates in analysis and design walkthroughs
Providing input to the design team to ensure that testing considerations are incorporated in the design (design for testability)
Provide manager with detailed test estimates for project planning purposes
Translate the detailed requirements to a comprehensive test plan
Modify existing test plans and testing information to correct errors, to adapt to new use case scenarios, upgraded interfaces and performance enhancements
Participate in detail reviews of test plans
Manage test plans and test cases in Jira
Test Execution: Under the supervision of the Product Operations Manager
Accountable for the quality of work delivered for the specific project
Effective test case execution with real time status updates of the results using Jira
Analyze and troubleshoot test case failures resulting in an action plan
Provide accurate and detailed bug reporting throughout the testing process
Assist product development in the investigation/reproducibly of product issues
Be aware of and provide input to the automation effort
Maintain test cases throughout the product development cycle
Participate, when required, with the multi-functional team in bug triages
Provide regular status report updates to the management team
Robotics: Under the supervision of the Product Operations Manager and Technical Product Manager
Provide test support for new robotics products
Provide test support for robotics sustainment and customer issues
Perform structural and performance testing on robotics design
Work with manufacturing and manufacturing test teams to ensure that testing is consistent across teams
Lab prime: Under the supervision of the Product Operations Manager
In depth understanding of lab best practices
Participate in CMS lab User Group
Implement and enforce lab and workplace safety practices
Maintain lab assets, tools, and equipment
Manage the use and sharing of physical lab assets
Develop and build test environments
Other duties: Under the supervision of the Product Operations Manager
Act as an occasional trainer for existing and new PV employees
Assist the customer support team with customer quality issues.
Participate in postmortems reviews, what worked, what didn\xe2\x80\x99t, what can we do better
Provide suggestions/plans for ongoing improvements and overall efficiencies to the Ottawa Lab
Provide feedback to the Product Operations Manager on the team\xe2\x80\x99s performance and recommend ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Follow company policies and procedures
Perform other related duties as required
