Job Description


On behalf of our client in Vancouver, Ignite Technical Resources is looking for Product/Functional Support Manager with our client for a permanent full-time opportunity.

Project Details:
The team maintains, continuously improves, and enhances the systems and processes that support operational functions of client, including human resources and finance. Team members within this unit will work cross-functionally with other departments/units across client. The vision for the team is to provide integrated services that create an enriched user experience for faculty, staff and students.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, mentors, and provides leadership, including all aspects of the team member lifecycle (e.g., hiring, training, coaching, etc.):
  • Leads the team performance conversation process with team of functional analyst and support analyst team members.
  • Provides career planning advice to team; creates development plans to help team members achieve their career goals, including assigning work which leverages their skills and provides them with opportunities for learning.
  • Acts as the functional Payroll and Cross-Functional product leader to ensure alignment with HR\'s and Finance\'s vision, goals, policies and practices:
  • Translates short- and long-term strategic requirements into operational plans.
  • Ensures the business requirements gathered reflect the university and user needs and optimize experience.
  • Contributes to and translates the business owner vision and strategic direction for the Payroll and Cross-functional area and oversees the development of system specific strategies, tactical plans and initiatives.
  • Partners with the Senior Product Manager to support vendor management for the Workday product.
  • Provides operational and strategic guidance and management of all functions related to tier 2 support operations.
  • Leads, motivates and manages the tier 2 customer support function and team members and assigns responsibilities accordingly to deliver high quality services.
  • Manage, coach, motivate and mentor the team to continuously improve performance
  • Motivate team to achieve individual and team objectives through performance management, goal setting and development plans
  • Evaluate individual and team performance against agreed to objectives with appropriate feedback
To be Successful You Need To Have:
  • Minimum 7 years experience in providing customer service support to a large group or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a broad range of general and specialized human resources and/or finance functions.
  • A high level of interpersonal skill is required
  • Experience in training and/or instruction of a routine nature in areas of expertise
  • Customer service orientation
Nice to Have:
  • Experience working with Workday is an asset.
  • Lean/6sigma or other process management certification or designation preferred
  • Change Management experience and designation preferred
  • Project Management experience and designation preferred.
