Product Support Supervisor

Job Description

As a member of the Product Launch and Sustainability (PLS) team within the Scientific Affairs team, the Supervisor, Product Support is responsible for coordinating laboratory support for investigations into issues and updates related to products that are fully commercialized, including but not limited to material supplier changes, product improvement opportunities, release to new markets etc. The Supervisor, Product Support will also assist in the development and release of new products by providing expertise in the creation of new product and quality control specification and work instructions.The Supervisor, Product Support takes initiative to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness by developing and implementing tools, streamlining documents and designing and executing studies for change submission.*
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE*
Current product NC's

  • Participate in cross functional team investigations related to product defects
  • Lead root cause investigations to determine the root cause for defects associated with existing products
  • Lead investigations related to performance related nonconformities and provide recommendations to QA for material disposition and corrective actions acting as the product design expert.
  • Lead investigations related to performance related issues arising from QA, QC, or production related issues.
Current product design changes (ECR's)
  • Participate in risk management activities related to modified products or processes under development as required
  • Lead or support testing required for ECR changes
  • Assist with designing and executing verification and validation studies to support changes to current products or process changes
Design transfer for device changes and new devices
  • Assist in development of new product specifications and procedures, translating design outputs into testing procedures and quality control release criteria for new or modified products and processes
  • Coordinate and assist, when required, in product testing performed as a part of process validation
Product support
  • Design and coordinate stability studies for new or modified products.
General
  • Present technical and complex information clearly to lab personnel as well as to members of other departments including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Sales & Marketing
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Master's degree in a life sciences discipline (preferably biochemistry, microbiology, chemistry, biology, or related science), or a BSc with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a research laboratory
  • Knowledge of or experience with GLP, GMP work desired
  • Strong methodical problem-solving skills
  • Experience with root cause analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral communication skills, and written communication skills are required
  • Must be able to work independently following a brief period of specific technical training
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must have strong analytical and technical writing skills
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Access, Excel)
  • Organized and detail-oriented
