As a member of the L&H Journey, Buy Product Group, supporting our Assisted Channel experiences you\'ll be responsible for understanding and serving our customers\' needs and experiences from end-to-end. You will continuously contribute to building innovative products and services that exceed customers\' expectations.

Under NEW, a Product refers to a business or technology-enabled feature, service or offering that creates value for the customer. As a Product Owner II, you will primarily be responsible for ensuring that the Assisted Channels Buy Pod, creates value for the organization and customers through the delivery of customer-focused Products. You will also be responsible for providing advisory services to executives, business segment leaders to support the delivery of a product vision.

To provide that support, you will align with other Product Owners and Senior Management to follow a product vision. You will provide user story designs, oversee development and completion of those designs, create and maintain a prioritized product backlog, and manage delivery blockers. You\'ll also continuously assess customer feedback by taking the pulse of the market, driving innovation and collaborating with stakeholders.

As a Product Owner II, you will actively consider how to maximize value, assess how the product or the delivery process can be continuously improved, contribute to a positive work environment, and ensure that the work embodies the Agile principles of transparency, collaboration, and engagement.

The objectives for this role include the following:

  • Key subject matter expert with deep expertise within a defined Segment, with significant depth or breadth of knowledge about broader related areas
  • Accountable for specialized product development support based on deep product expertise in Agile/Scrum processes, roles, and practices.
  • Senior specialist providing advisory services to executives, business segment leaders, while governing the requirements for your own work
  • Develop solutions across functions or operations to support multiple business lines\' overarching strategies.
  • Advises on execution strategy and leads the development and deployment of functional programs or initiatives within their scope of work and/or across multiple Pods
  • Solves unique and ambiguous problems with broad impact; typically oversees standards, controls and operating methods that have significant financial and operational impact within the context of their scope of work
  • Integrates knowledge of the enterprise function\xe2\x80\x99s or business segment\xe2\x80\x99s overarching strategy in leading program design, policy formulation or operating standards within one or more areas of expertise
  • Impacts the technical or functional direction and resource allocation of part of their respective Assisted Channels pod
  • Provides leadership guidance, makes recommendations and collaborates with the business to ensure solutions meet the business needs on complex projects or programs
  • Anticipates emerging business trends and regulatory/risk issues as a basis for recommending large-scale product, technical, functional or operations improvements
  • The primary objectives of the Assisted Channels pod in F\'23 is to continue our aggressive growth trajectory by continuing to deliver legendary customer experiences through all available channels.

Job Requirements
Continuously align with senior management on overall strategic vision, product delivery roadmap and user story design, development and completion oversight.
  • Proactively manage business stakeholders to obtain inputs needed for product development in a timely manner and actively communicate to Business, Technology and Senior Management product changes and backlog priorities.
  • Facilitate conversations with multiple stakeholders to obtain feedback for backlog management where competing priorities may exist
  • Review performance analytics; recommend and champion strategies to enhance the customer or end-user product experience
  • Participate in Scrum or Kanban events (e.g. stand-ups, retrospectives) to express new ideas for improving product value or delivery efficiency and share with leadership as appropriate
  • Proactively engage business process partners to ensure customers or end-users are prepared for application and Day 2 process changes
  • Proactively raise issues that impede the efficient delivery of customer-focused increments
  • Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to activities within Assisted Channels Pod
  • Understand the internal business and technical environment, proactively defining, aligning or integrating with relevant stakeholders, shared services control groups (or platform as appropriate) to make product delivery decisions and escalating to Senior Management as appropriate.
  • Lead the submission and discussion on the Quarterly Business Review, with respect to their product
  • Define the OKRs in partnership with numerous stakeholders across the organization
  • Monitor and keep abreast of emerging issues, trends and evolving regulatory changes to the regulatory environment and partner with the senior management to consider impacts or changes to product strategy as needed
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
  • Improve the colleague experience and career path within our owned assisted channels
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve Life & Health conversion rates
  • Establish new avenues to promote the Life and Health value proposition to drive increased loyalty in our customer base

Additional Information
Undergraduate/Graduate degree and / or product certificate is an asset
  • 5+ years relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of Product Owner or Agile-related delivery experience.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification and project management experience are considered an asset
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certifications or experience operating in scaled agile delivery is considered an asset
