We are seeking a skilled

Product Owner

to join our growing

Consulting

team! The Product Owner plays a vital role in is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and operational delivery of enterprise data and cloud solutions for our utility clients. This role will oversee a team of Data Architects, Cloud Engineers, and Data Engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure data products that support key utility domains including Customer, Metering, Asset, Grid Operations, Energy Supply and Demand, Regulatory, and Finance.


The Manager will define the product and delivery roadmap, prioritize initiatives, and ensure alignment between technical teams and business stakeholders. They will champion data-driven decision-making, operational excellence, and adherence to governance and regulatory standards across the portfolio of data products and cloud platforms.

What You'll be Doing:



Lead the development and delivery of enterprise data products, platforms, and cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with utility business strategy and needs. Define, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, features, user stories, and technical tasks to maximize value from data products and services. Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including business leaders, data engineers, analysts, and data architects, to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure successful product delivery. Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and communicate product progress clearly. Supervise, mentor, and guide data architects, cloud and data engineers, fostering collaboration, technical alignment, and high-quality delivery. Ensure all data products and platforms comply with governance, security, regulatory, and privacy standards, while optimizing performance, scalability, and cost. Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, quality, lineage, and operational processes, driving consistency and operational excellence across teams. Develop and maintain the product and delivery roadmap, aligning initiatives with business priorities and emerging technology trends. Drive the successful deployment, adoption, and sustainment of data products and services, proactively resolving issues, designing support processes, and applying change management methodologies. Promote a data-driven culture and the adoption of modern cloud, analytics, and product management principles across teams and client organizations. Oversee the creation of documentation, training materials, metrics, and operational playbooks, monitoring outcomes and implementing improvements to enhance product and delivery performance. Support ad-hoc initiatives that advance the organization's data product capabilities and delivery excellence.

What You'll Bring:



Proven experience managing data product delivery. Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP), modern data stack tools (e.g., dbt, ADF, Snowflake, Informatica, Databricks, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Kafka, Oracle, MySQL, Power BI) and modern data lakes. Proficiency in SQL and an understanding of enterprise data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical) Familiarity with agile delivery, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of data governance, security, compliance, and operational best practices. Knowledge of modern data transformation and integration tools (dbt, ADF, Informatica) and data pipeline orchestration. Understanding of data lifecycle management, self-serve analytics, and federated data governance models. Working knowledge of both Agile and traditional SDLC methodologies, with the ability to adapt delivery approaches based on project scope and client needs. Knowledge of utility concepts and systems (e.g., AMI, MDM, CIS) is considered an asset but not required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business challenges into actionable data and technology solutions. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience creating clear, client-ready deliverables and presentations. Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities efficiently under tight timelines and critical deadlines. Experience leading or participating in client-facing activities, including requirements gathering, solution workshops, and stakeholder presentations. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data concepts into business-friendly language

What Skills Do You Need:



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in data management concepts and frameworks, including Data Governance, Data Policy, Data Lineage, Data Modeling, Data Quality, Data Risk and Control Frameworks, Data Warehousing, ETL, and Data Analytics. 3+ years of experience with Agile product delivery. Proficiency in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps). Experience working in a software development environment is considered an asset but not required. Hands-on experience with at least one cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, Azure Synapse Analytics).
