Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, ECommerce, the ECommerce Product Owner is responsible for defining and prioritizing product (website) features, adjusting those features and prioritizing after each sprint as required, as well as keeping stakeholders updated about status and getting their feedback. The incumbent establishes the product roadmap to drive growth and sustainability of the Air Canada Vacations online business. On a day-to-day basis, the Product Owner delivers strategy, identifies business opportunities, and conducts business analysis. He or she will work alongside the Functional Analyst and Scrum Master, Web Development and IT teams, as well as the business stakeholders, to manage corresponding projects from inception to launch with an eye for continuous improvement for the forementioned products.
In the first few months, the ECommerce Product Owner will be mandated to lead the re-platforming of the eCommerce website with an agile approach, a project which is key to Air Canada Vacations\xe2\x80\x99 digital transformation. The candidate must have strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, establish and drive the roadmap for the ecommerce website product. Align product roadmap with strategic themes and IT systems updates roadmap
  • Deliver product vision, high-level business requirement documents, manage related product backlogs, develop acceptance criteria, and drive user acceptance testing.
  • Align the product/project vision, improve the work transparency, and communicate product increment with stakeholders. Work with delivery and engineering team to plan releases and program increments. Manage product backlog and work priorities in a timely manner.
  • Partner with IT to ensure releases are properly planned, managed, and deployed
  • Work with business owners to provide timely support to business regarding system configurations, settings and workflow management, plan and provide training to business team for related ecommerce products
  • Facilitate product/project meetings, improve cross discipline communications, and promote product management best practices
  • Document business decisions and ensure user guides of developed features are built and shared across all relevant stakeholders
Requirements:
  • A post-secondary degree in Business, Marketing or ECommerce
  • 5+ years\' experience in a business analysis or product owner role
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies
  • Experience with Confluence, JIRA, MS Office, MS Project and Monday or equivalent product management software
  • Experience working with CMS platforms, an asset
  • Prior experience in Travel Technology, an asset
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent skills in strategic & critical thinking
  • Strong interpersonal, communication & persuasion skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter
  • Understanding of company organization, products, and related industry knowledge
  • Ability to juggle conflicting priorities while completing projects successfully
