Orbital Stackis a growing tech start-up that is taking RWDI\xe2\x80\x99s world-leading expertise in climate-focused design analysis and turning it into software for the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. Our software helps architects and engineers design livable, climate-savvy buildings that leverage the local climate to their advantage rather than suffer at its mercy, creating spaces where people love to spend time. We are doing this by delivering high fidelity simulations and intuitive visualizations to customers directly in the AEC industry as well as through the consulting services of RWDI.
With our unique startup model, we are already delivering projects and generating revenue. A spin-off of RWDI with strong ties to its expert scientists, we are also well supported by the RWDI Ventures team. We are looking for smart and enthusiastic teammates to help us build exciting tools that combine leading engineering technology with high-performance computing and the best in web-based 3D visualizations. Orbital Stack is looking for a Product Engineer to join our team. As a growing startup, we look for team members that are versatile and able to jump in wherever help is needed. This position will be no different and would places the candidate squarely in the center of the action, working with sales, development, and management. We realize that we might be looking for unicorn, which is why we are willing to help you grow into the position even if you don\xe2\x80\x99t think you fully fit the bill. Ideal characteristics

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or higher in mechanical, civil, or related engineering
• Experience with wind analysis and microclimate, ideally in an urban environment
• Experience or some exposure to wind testing and modelling, either physical or computational (CFD)
• Experience working with a CAD program (ideally Rhino)
• An excitement to work with people to help them solve their problems
• An inquisitive nature
• The ability to problem solve

Job Responsibilities This job will be an exciting mix of responsibilities that will keep you on your toes!

• Product Management \xe2\x80\x93 work with our RWDI engineers, Orbital Stack\xe2\x80\x99s top customers, and leadership to define product requirements and working with the development team to refine those needs
• Technical Sales \xe2\x80\x93 working with our Director of Revenue Growth presenting the capabilities of our software to prospects
• Project Management \xe2\x80\x93 Helping to shepherd more complex projects through completion, ensuring that our customers have an exceptional experience working with our product and our team
• Technical Review \xe2\x80\x93 Working with our support team to review challenging customer projects and occasionally help customers achieve successful results
• Technical Guidance \xe2\x80\x93 Working with our customer support team to help them effectively describe what our product does and how users should interpret results
