The Green Home Energy Services team at Aecon is bringing energy solutions to residential customers across Canada. The service offering includes solar PV rooftop systems, energy storage, EV charging stations and the integration of these devices into the overall residential energy management platform.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for all purchasing related activities and for ensuring the delivery of materials/ services to the site occurs on time, at the right price the first time.This position acts as a liaison between offices and field workers and must possess strong knowledge of procurement policies and procedures.

What You\'ll Do Here:

  • Lead discussions with products manufacturers, distributors and partners to build procurement strategy for the Green Home Energy Services business
  • Manage requests for product data sheets for products. Ensure material production releases meet all necessary criteria
  • Accountable to satisfy demand placed on the system on time
  • Develop strong relationship with Operations team managing material planning to optimize operational schedules
  • Coordinate and take action of purchases based on the MRP in conformance with demand requirements
  • Establish good supplier business relations to attain and maintain established delivery/service goals
  • Create purchase orders in SAP, confirm purchase quantities and pricing with vendor
  • Adherence to Aecon preferred supplier sourcing footprint.
  • Accountable for driving toward a zero exception procure to pay process
  • Real time resolution of price, delivery, account assignment, material and service-related exceptions
  • Increase the use and refinement of Aecon\'s material master data
  • Ensure that all packing slips have been verified for all pertinent information
  • Clear open commitments and close Purchase orders as required
  • Maintains and organizes all related filing systems
  • Generate Vendor Corrective Measures when required
  • Ensure material specifications are adhered to when sourcing/buying
  • Manage requests for product data sheets/shop drawings for applicable items. Ensure material production releases meet all necessary criteria
  • Review and analyze material quotes for total cost of purchase
  • Other procurement administrative duties as required
What You Bring to the Team:
  • Experience in the renewable energy industry with products such as solar, EV, battery storage in procurement is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercising judgment and initiative and involves multi-tasking
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong ability to forge relationships both internally within different Aecon departments and externally with suppliers
  • Technical understanding of SAP and the procure to pay process. Intermediate to advance level of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Understanding of \xe2\x80\x9ctotal cost\xe2\x80\x9d concepts
  • Strong attention to detail
