Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Facilities & SCM Operations, the Corporate Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the purchasing cycle of all goods and services, ensuring that they are procured and delivered in a timely manner in support of corporate services needs as required. The Corporate Procurement Specialist will ensure compliance to Gibson SCM policies and procedures.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Procurement of complex goods, services, IT Software, IT Hardware which includes issuing request for quotations and proposals, creating, maintaining, and expediting purchase orders throughout the lifecycle of the purchase order.
  • Create sustainable value through cost savings, process improvement and risk avoidance for the business.
  • Conduct request for proposals (RFP\xe2\x80\x99s), evaluate bid submissions, negotiate directly with vendors on standard terms and conditions and remuneration, recommend award and prepare final contract documents.
  • Responsible for sourcing vendors, as well as support post-award management of vendors, including managing change orders, performance reviews, claims resolution and purchase order/contract close-out activity.
  • Maintain change order logs and procurement registers to support managing the lifecycle of purchase orders/contracts.
  • Use various proven negotiation methods to critically analyze and conduct standard and non-standard negotiations on behalf of the business in complex situations,
  • Primary point of contact with vendors for performance and commercial matters on assigned purchase orders.
  • Develop fit for purpose supply chain procedures and policies for the operations and maintenance groups.
  • Support the enhancement of and ensure compliance with Gibson\xe2\x80\x99s Supply Chain Management policies and procedures.
  • Work with Gibson Legal department to resolve commercial matters related to purchase orders, standard terms and conditions and disputes with vendors.
  • Maintain and file all procurement documentation following Gibson Document Control requirements.
  • Designated as one of Gibson\xe2\x80\x99s subject matter experts on Gibson\xe2\x80\x99s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for procurement, supporting Gibson\xe2\x80\x99s operations and business areas as required.
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring
  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or Commerce is required
  • SCMP designation is an asset
  • 7-10 years purchasing and contract administration experience, including RFP preparation and evaluations.
  • Capable of effectively managing numerous concurrent and varied priorities in a deadline driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with functional and operating areas
  • Represent and promote the company in a responsible, positive and professional manner

Working Conditions
  • The majority of the work is performed in an office environment.
  • Travel may be required 10% of the time.
