The incumbent will be working under the direction of VP - Commercial and Business Affairs. It is intended at this time that the position will be in in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidate will work a standard business week in a corporate office environment with regular travel to our Main Office in Yellowknife, NT, as well as intermittent travel to Client Offices (cross-Country) and Project Sites (remote-Northern).SCOPEProvide day-to-day Contract and Procurement management and administration services and support, across multiple Projects, multiple Clients, and multiple Locations, through the full life cycle of the Contracting and Procurement process.Draft and/or review complex, binding agreements and instruments including Prime Contracts, Subcontracts, Purchase Orders, Lease Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and Credit Applications - utilizing standard (in-house, CCDC) and custom (Client, EPCM) terms and conditions.Support Project Teams in the negotiation of Contract terms and conditions by ensuring commercial arrangements are in best business interests of the Nahanni Group of Companies, comply with applicable laws and regulations, and steward to corporate policy, procedure, and project risk profiles.Exercise sound judgment in selecting contracting methods, commercial structures, and evaluation criteria and act as subject matter expert in development of contracting and Procurement standards policies, procedures, templates, tools, and systems.Own the Contracting and Procurement processes and business function, including strategic sourcing, subcontracting, and Vendor file management. Provide oversight and assistance to Project staff through Contracting and Procurement strategy, planning, management, administration, and closeout.Research unique contractual (legal) issues impacting the Business and possess the ability to understand and interpret basic legal concepts to the level necessary to make recommendations to Senior Management and external Counsel for review, discussion and decisioning.Establish and maintain positive working relationships with Project and Home Office staff, external Clients and Stakeholders, and 3rd Party Business Consultants.REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent field and commercial experience, preferably in Industrial and/or Mining construction environments.Minimum five (5) years progressive, demonstrated Contract/Procurement management experience in both Prime Contract and Subcontracting scenarios.Proven experience managing the strategic, planning, sourcing, negotiating, drafting, admin, change control and close-out phases of the Contracting/Procurement cycle.Ability to accurately read, interpret, develop, and negotiate terms and conditions of various forms of Prime Contract and Subcontract including Install, Supply-Install, and Design-Supply Install (Design-Build).Can effectively and efficiently interpret and communicate complex technical, commercial, and contractual information to others (internal and external), verbally and in writing.Experience implementing various forms of commercial structure including Stipulated Sum, Unit Rate, Time and Materials and Cost-Plus pricing structures.Possess working knowledge of strategic sourcing concepts and methodologies, strong negotiating skills, and ability to identify, assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risk.Aptitude for use of ERP business systems and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.Please be aware that the successful applicant(s) will be required to complete a Canadian Criminal Record Check.Closing date: 15-Sep-2022Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:
