Position Summary:
This position will play a vital role in McCain\xe2\x80\x99s efforts to be a best-in-class purchaser of materials and services for use in the manufacture of food products, and will provide tactical supply chain leadership in the planning, delivery and storage of raw and packaging materials required for production at McCain\xe2\x80\x99s North American plants. Furthermore, this position will support:
Procurement systems initiatives
Problem solving and troubleshooting for material and service supply outages
Drive improvement opportunities related to supplier delivery performance
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for materials management supporting North American manufacturing facilities. The Procurement Specialist will review material requirements and create purchase orders ensuring material deliveries are aligned with production plans. The Procurement Specialist will be the point of contact to resolve vendor issues related to quantity and date.
Responsibilities:
Management of in-bound raw material supply chain - Ensure timely delivery of all ingredients and packaging materials necessary to support production.
Management of direct material inventory, ensuring production requirements are met and considering working capital impacts.
Responsibility to manage inbound material risk through a defined process to mitigate attainment & adherence impact.
Accountability for SMI Vendor management including the SMI inventory parameters and open order reviews.
Accountability for material returns, dispositions, credits and write-offs.
Provide leadership in the management and resolution of material complaints. Insure the buyer is aware of developing performance trends.
Conduct routine procurement tasks including MRP review and PO placement.
Maintain supplier performance metrics and support collection of data for quality, delivery, schedule adherence, etc.
Review daily exception reports and insure that all required supply chain actions are taken in a proactive and timely manner to support plant production requirements.
Be a resource in the development and execution of material savings initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree preferred, preferably in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain
Computer Skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint
System Experience - SAP, TMS, Power Bi
Procurement or Supply Chain experience preferred but not required
Proven project management experience preferred
Demonstrated skills in the area of analytical, planning and analysis. Role is ideal for a detail-oriented problem solver with excellent prioritization and collaboration skills.
