POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

  • Manage all the Truck, Rail and Network COSTS for our activities and provide corresponding Inland SELLING rates.
  • Responsible for gathering & analyzing Canada procurement costs, quoting / supporting strategic inland costs tariff offers, and undertaking special projects task assignments.
  • Manage and reconciliate the truckers and rail providers invoicing and be first level escalation on all purchasing and pricing issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • assist and supports the intermodal team
  • Work closely with customers, internal departments and overseas as partners in resolving issues and creating strong relationships
Inlands & Quotations
  • Elaborate and apply the Inland Selling strategy for both Import & Export moves for rail and truck and in line with all procurement tasks
  • Meet and negotiate with truckers and their representative for best rates & service levels.
  • Updating / maintenance of the Door Truck Database and local support to all dispatchers for Canadian operations.
  • Provide Special Price Quotations (SPQ) to inquiring Trade / Sales teams to offer a wide range of Inland solutions.
  • Analyze, study & implement new routings / services to keep of service offer competitive
  • Create /activate /deactivate Lara routing , and maintaining LISA
Accounting
  • Daily / Weekly / Monthly accounting maintenance (Vendor Statements, EDI invoicing errors, T/O accuracy)
  • Key contact to liaise with biggest vender CN, CP, Account Payables & SSC for all rail discrepancies and updates until switched to Open Payables
  • Supervise all actions required to maximize payback as cost savings under the Quick Pay Incentive Program established with CN
Intermodal maintenance
  • Regular maintenance and monthly updating of LARA/LISA Routings (Rail & Truck Leg Updates) & in line with our rail and line-haul providers.
  • Updating / maintenance of the Intermodal Guidelines Document & SOP relate to other departments based on latest confirmed procedures (Ex. Advisory, SSC Rail billing, etc.).
  • Responsible for updating of all the Canadian road contracts and including insurance as per active carriers logged in our Truck Database file.
  • Build / send a bi-monthly Import Rail Forecast to our rail partners with collected data from C-Report.
Projects & Inland customer solutions
  • Work with IT specialists to improve Intermodal and Procurement\'s reporting capabilities such as automated reports for statistical and workflow purposes.
  • Assist and transfer knowledge on how to maintain in-house tools developed to facilitate execution of tasks within the Intermodal & Procurement functions.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: University degree and/ or international transportation schooling
  • Experience: 5 years industry experience
