Our core businesses include Mobile Crane & Rigging, Highway Infrastructure Maintenance and Construction, On / Off Highway Bulk Commodity Hauling, Specialized Heavy Hauling, Oilfield Services, Mine Contracting, Proppant Supply and Logistics, and General On-Site Services.
We are looking to expand our operations areas and are preparing a response to an RFP announced by Parsons Corporation for the Giant Mine Reclamation Project.
As such, LaPrairie is looking for qualified professionals to join our Team should we be successful in procuring the contract for this project.
Job Summary Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Procurement and Expediting Coordinator will maintain the Preventative maintenance plan and Inventory Control Systems.
Duties & Responsibilities, Include, but are not limited to:
  • Adhere to and follow all Client and LaPrairie\xe2\x80\x99s policies and procedures, with a strong focus on safety and environment polices
  • Inspect deliveries of permanent materials jointly with Parsons, record shortages, and damaged or defective items.
  • Receive and unload products at site. Handle products at site, including uncrating and storage, records management, and reporting. Equipment, items, or accessories shall be unloaded, stored, preserved, and protected under required temperature-controlled areas, if necessary, as per original equipment manufacturer\xe2\x80\x99s recommendations. The short- or long-term storage and preservation should be considered with respect to construction schedule.
  • Protect all materials and equipment from damage
  • Prepare for the Assembly, installation, connection, adjustment, and finishing of products
  • Facilitate the repair or replacement of items damaged by the Company or parties that report to Company on site.
  • Provide timely and sufficient notice to Parsons\xe2\x80\x99 when manufacturer\xe2\x80\x99s field service is required.
  • Communicate with site managers regarding parts and/or services required for each task or project.
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, ethical practices and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Create purchase orders from approved purchase requisitions.
  • Facilitate competitive bids/quotations to fulfill statements of works.
  • Ensure all Purchase Orders/vendors accounts conform to Project Terms and Conditions.
  • Issue Purchase Orders to vendor/requestor and approver.
  • Monitor and coordinate deliveries and backorders with vendor and communicate with internal stakeholders.
  • Investigate invalid invoices by coordinating with requestors/approvers/vendors or Accounts Payable for resolutions.
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable to verify purchase orders and invoices have proper coding/payment terms/unit numbers. Provide training of procurement department processes via email/phone/in person to site employees and AP teams as required.
  • Assist project teams in developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
  • Assist in maintaining the vendor master list, updating details as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Minimum 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Procurement and Expediting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
  • Must work independently and plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written).
  • Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities capable of handling pressure and challenges.
  • Comprehensive understanding of local, territorial, and federal construction regulations.
