WHAT’S THE JOB?

Join our NRB Modular Solutions team, where our people are driven by a desire to innovate, do social good, and move construction forward. The Procurement Coordinator (Subcontracts), reporting to the Subcontracts Lead, is responsible for providing contract management and tactical support throughout the planning, design, procurement, construction and start-up stages of the Modular Solutions’ project lifecycle in accordance with policies and procedures. Relative to the sourcing and issuance of supplier contracts, and under the guidance and general direction of the Procurement Specialist (Subcontracts) and Subcontracts Lead, the Procurement Coordinator (Subcontracts) is expected to organize, draft, execute and track many of the contract management functions. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor, and to provide commercial and contractual advice throughout contract lifecycle. Your work will include:

  • Supporting the Procurement Specialist (Subcontracts) to contribute to front-end project planning activities, including identifying commercial opportunities and risks and recommend advantageous sourcing/contracting strategies.
  • Procures and administers purchase orders, invoices and subcontracts for goods and services, as requested from Subcontracts personnel and maintains records for same per established procedures, electronic filing.
  • Ensures post award compliance on the supplier’s performance (cost, schedule, technical, policies and procedures, and all other terms and conditions) of awarded agreements.
  • Serve as front-line knowledgebase for Canadian construction and trades companies; maintain commercial relationships with contractors’ sales representatives and management. Become supply market expert for NRB project teams.
  • Drafting and executing all RFx activities (preparation, issuance, evaluation, award) through lifecycle.
  • Drafting and stewarding for approval commercial recommendations for award.
  • Contract formation and negotiation activities (largely against established/approved templates); work with Contracts Specialists, Manager, Contracts, and Legal as required.
  • Track and administer post-award contract changes.
  • Throughout contract lifecycle, ensure supplier compliance to policies, qualification requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Manage the maintenance of reportable savings throughout contracts’ lifecycle.
  • Handle inquiries and needs for subcontractor due diligence requests and research subcontract information as necessary

Qualifications
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
  • Degree or designation in a related field (combination of education and relevant experience would be considered).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with contracts in supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of Canadian construction contractor market is an asset.
  • Previous experience in residential and commercial construction is an asset.
  • Must be able work for long periods of time in an administrative desk type work environment.
  • Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple assignments, and work under strict deadlines.
  • At minimum, foundational understanding of contractual and technical terms and RFx process.
  • Foundational understanding of the various construction contract models (ex. lump sum, reimbursable, time and materials, etc.).
  • Excellent excel spreadsheet and word processing skills.
