Procurement Coordinator

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain, the Procurement Coordinator will play a fundamental role in achieving company purchasing targets, maintaining effective supplier relationships and delivering packaging and raw materials in a timely and efficient manner. The successful candidate possesses a strong ability to communicate clearly and be able to handle deadlines in a fast-paced, ever changing environment. This position works closely with Demand Planning and Innovation to ensure all requirements are met and all projects are completed in a timely manner. A typical day as a Procurement Coordinator includes: - Fulfill company needs and maintain packaging and raw material standards at all production facilities
- Source new vendors that will help reduce cost of goods, track and report key functional metrics
- Regularly review sourcing and costing of products and evaluate supplier performance
- Forecast packaging and raw material needs and perform RFQ/RFP process for larger and long-term purchases
- Establish solutions for missed production needs and anticipate unfavorable events through data analysis and control strategies
- Ensure quality and timeliness of orders from vendors
- Maintain inventory of all packaging related items as well as raw materials at the brewery and external warehouses and ensure timely delivery of packaging materials to production
- Approve the ordering of necessary good from company departments using approved internal purchase order process
- Finalize details of orders and deliveries including logistics around shipping, customs,duties, and receiving
- Collaborate with department heads to develop specifications around all packaging and good falling under the Procurement Coordinator\xe2\x80\x99s purview How your time will be organized: Procuring packaging and raw materials from various suppliers- 60% - Procuring optimally to ensure minimum inventory levels are maintained but also ensuring ordering is optimized to benefit from economies of scale
- Creation of POs
- Follow up with suppliers on delivery timing/ lead times Price benchmarking 10% - Benchmarking prices to determine CA is competitive within the market RFQ/RFP process 10% - Conduct RFP/RFQ process on new items
- Provide feedback to relevant parties
- Sourcing optimally to reach margins Vendor management 5% - Managing vendors and conduct vendor reviews Packaging and raw material transfers 5% - Management of transfers of packaging or raw materials between the brewery and 3rd party warehousing Monthly and weekly meetings 10% - Prepare and participate in various meetings. - Prior experience in a brewery or food manufacturing setting
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative to adapt and overcome in the face of adversity Preferred qualifications: - University Degree or College Diploma in related program preferably Supply Chain or Finance
- Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Established negotiation skills
- Knowledge with vendor and procurement contracts an asset Bonus points if you: - Have worked in a scaling start-up or growing small-business environment
- Have knowledge of the Brewing Industry
