Procurement and Accounting Summer Internship
Note: To be eligible for this role, you must be a student returning to full time studies in the fall or required to complete a co-op/internship in order to fulfill a program requirement.

What you can expect:

• The Procurement and Accounting Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in business areas such as contracts, negotiation, data integrity, and process improvement.
• The Procurement and Accounting Intern should be a result- and performance-driven individual, who demonstrates these qualities with the ability to evaluate complex situations, be adaptable, have excellent time-management skills, willing to learn, and have a sense of ownership for the work they do.
• This is a 4-month internship beginning in May 2026.

PROCUREMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load contracts into the Ariba database with the annual spend, start and end dates, corporate information, and link to the Canadian Procurement Projects List for 2024.
• Ensure that information is loaded to the Ariba software.
• Collect and analyze data from Requests for Quotation to assess the accuracy and integrity of bids; ensure that each bid compares "apples to apples"; use Excel to track the quotes and assess which is most beneficial.
• Assist in collecting information and updating quotes.
• Be willing to support the Canadian Procurement Manager for ad-hoc requests.
• You will learn what Procurement does and how it interfaces with every department.

ACCOUNTING RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the month end financial close

• Monitor, collect and analyze data to assess accuracy and integrity of financial records; ensure compliance with local and global standards (GAAP), regulations, and systems of Assist with the month end financial close

• Assist in managing, researching, and resolving any finance and business issues that may arise
• Be willing to support internal and external Finance and Operations department ad-hoc requests that would include cross-functional dialogue

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• 2nd or 3rd-year University student working towards the completion of an undergraduate degree (accounting, business, finance, or related discipline preferred). Must be returning to school in the Fall.
• Advanced analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Able to work with diverse, cross-functional teams and build relationships.
• Able to work on multiple projects concurrently and follow up on actions/ issues.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/ PREFERENCES:

• Previous experience in accounting or procurement is an asset.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills - Excel, PowerPoint, Word
• AI

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• This role is determined to be a flexible worker, where on-site presence in the Toronto office is expected to be 10 days per month minimum, as determined by your manager and business needs.
• This role is eligible for paid vacation days, paid sick days, statutory holidays and company assigned floater days.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $22 - $25/hour
