Job Description

We are a young family that have become very disenfranchised with the public education system and are looking to homeschool our 2 youngest kids this year.

We are looking for a passionate teacher for our girls for English, History and Geography. Someone who is great with kids and has a love of teaching and helping them to grow into successful and thoughtful adults with a solid educational foundation that is not limited by the public school curriculum, and incorporates real world knowledge and critical thinking.

We would prefer someone who is able to think outside the box, and teach the kids with interactive and thoughtful education that keeps them interested and engaged.

Previous educational or child care experience is a bonus, but not a must.

A great positive attitude and ability to deal with kids is a must.

We will have a dedicated space in our home, and all supplies and equipment would be purchased by us in consultation with the successful candidate.

You would be responsible for coming up with the curriculum based on their grade levels (gr 3 and 6)

BENFITS/COMPENSATION:

-8 hours per week (2 days x 4 hours per day). We are flexible with what days and times, with the preference being mornings on two weekdays.

- $35-$40 per hour based on experience and fit.

- Willing to discuss travel compensation if coming from longer distance

- Discretionary bonus of $2,000 based on end of year performance (if they learn/progress well beyond their grade)

- 1 year contract, with extensions for years to come if it is a great fit.
