Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching and a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals. This position is provides supplementary help to French Immersion students and therefore requires a fluency in French and the ability to teach the language and curriculum. This role involves working with students of various ages and backgrounds, providing personalized instruction in subjects such as French and English. The Tutor will create a supportive learning environment that fosters student engagement and success.

Responsibilities

Develop individualized lesson plans tailored to each student's learning needs. Educate students in various subjects, ensuring a clear understanding of the material. Provide assistance with homework, projects, and exam preparation. Utilize effective teaching strategies to enhance student comprehension and retention. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly. Communicate regularly with students and their families regarding academic performance. Foster a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that promotes confidence and motivation.

Skills / Requirements

Strong knowledge of educational practices and tutoring methodologies. Pursuing or completed Bachelors Degree Teaching Certificate is an asset. (TESOL, TEFL) Proficiency in English and French REQUIRED. Experience working with children in a classroom or tutoring setting. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to engage students effectively and adapt to diverse learning styles. Patience, empathy, and a passion for education. This job requires in home tutoring session / in libraries, therefore applicant must have a vehicle.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.33-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 9 per week
