One of our clients is looking for a Print Operator
Length: 12 months contract with the possibility of extension and turning into a fulltime
Location: Toronto, ON
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm.
LOB: Admin/Clerical

JOB SUMMARY:
As a Print Operator, you will be responsible for operating digital print equipment and standard finishing machinery, ensuring the efficient and accurate production of printed materials. You will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, handling requests, providing estimates, scheduling, and tracking production processes. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be crucial as you conduct inspections throughout production runs. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining inventory levels, packaging, labeling, and shipping finished products. This position requires problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Operate digital print equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Utilize standard finishing equipment, including paper cutters, bindery machines, laminators, and drills, to complete print projects.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for customers, receiving requests, providing estimates, scheduling production, and tracking project progress.
  • Conduct basic quality inspections before, during, and after production runs to ensure optimal output.
  • Track and store jobs as per customer requirements for potential future reuse.
  • Maintain accurate reporting logs and information to facilitate billing processes.
  • Prepare finished products for shipping, including wrapping, packing, and labeling.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of printing supplies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues to meet production, delivery, and output requirements.
  • Be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and spending up to 80% of the workday on your feet.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow in the print production field.
  • Operate digital color equipment and electronic workflow tools proficiently.
SKILLS:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, Adobe, and other relevant software applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience:
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in a Customer Service environment.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a Print Shop environment.
EDUCATION:
  • Post high school technology training or relevant experience is preferred.
  • Education Verification and Security Clearance:
  • Education verification will be required for this position.
  • Security clearance, if needed, will be specified by the client.
