Summary:

We are looking to hire a talented Graphic Designer & Digital Print Operator with an eye for detail to oversee our company\xe2\x80\x99s printing process. As a graphic designer you have the knowledge, skills and attention to detail and an understanding of how to lay out graphics for digital printing purposes. As a digital print operator, you will operate a large format printer and ensure the colors and graphics meet the intended specifications. You must be able to stand for long hours, be comfortable with manual labour, and have excellent hand-eye coordination. The successful candidate has great work ethic and is team oriented.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receiving work order jobs for digital printing
  • Examining work orders to determine estimated printing times, ink, and material quantities
  • Setting up printer with inks and substrates for printing
  • Set up, operate and monitor printing machines during print run and adjust, ensuring that only high-quality prints are produced
  • Clean and lubricate machines and perform other routine machine maintenance as needed
  • Ensure that proper materials, inks and measurements according to customer specifications are used
  • Running prints and performing quality checks throughout the printing process
  • Converting DXF/PDF files into vector graphics
  • Troubleshooting problems as they arise Operate laminating equipment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • High school diploma
  • Possess graphic design education and experience
  • work experience as a digital printer
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Flexi software, and Pantone Matching System are an asset
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to manually operate large machinery
  • Ability to work alone for long shifts Able to travel to the US for training
