POSITION SUMMARY


The Print Director of Metal Deco manages the day-to-day operations of a brand-new, state-of-the-art metal deco and CTP plating operation that includes an 8-10 color pilot press. The position is responsible for support of all levels of metal deco printed cans, including color management as it relates to color targets, color measurement and color reporting per client\xe2\x80\x99s technical specifications, as well as attendance and management of onsite metal deco press runs for internal and client attended press approvals. The Print Director of Metal Deco provides technical guidance for the pilot press operation and recommends adjustments before and during the print process.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Supports Print Service Managers as required for client meetings (e.g. pre-production) and/or interacts with clients directly as necessary.
  • Ensures Print Service teams are operating to the highest quality standards in all client deliverables.
  • Works closely with Print Services team, and client contacts as needed, to ensure Print Service deliverables follow project specifications and meet client needs.
  • Maintains a good understanding of market and competitors\xe2\x80\x99 Print Service offerings and communicates this with the team.
  • Develops sound and effective Printing Services solutions to issues that impact a department or client.
  • Proactively leads the development of improved processes to better serve clients, achieve financial targets, and ensure consistency and quality of all packaging being produced on behalf of major clients.
  • Follows-up with Print Service Managers to ensure Print Services teams are adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Creates strong and effective internal partnerships with Global Account Leads, Brand Development and Brand Deployment teams to ensure client needs are met and projects stay within scope, budget, timeline, quality and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Develops, maintains and utilizes a long-term, holistic view of the business \xe2\x80\x93 and encourages the same in their direct reports.
  • Drives change: demonstrates adaptability and fosters an environment that encourages open mindedness and flexibility in the face of ambiguity and change.
  • Creates strong and effective internal partnerships with Business Development Teams, Client Solutions Teams and affiliated departments such as Color Lab to develop and promote new client offerings and solutions.
  • Supports Company\xe2\x80\x99s profitability efforts by encouraging and actively enabling innovation through Print Services activities.
  • Supports Company\xe2\x80\x99s profitability efforts by ensuring own team focuses on the efficient, accurate and timely completion of the assigned Print Services activities.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished. Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Graphic Arts, Interior Design or other related fields preferred or related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master\xe2\x80\x99s) preferred.
  • 10+ years progressive industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years in a leadership role Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Proven experience in successfully managing production teams within a print, pre-press, or graphics manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of the Company\xe2\x80\x99s products, solutions and services, Pre-media, Creative Services and solutions, Print Services, and/or Digital production, processes, roles, tools (digital and conventional) and workflow practices and trends.
  • Significant understanding of our clients\xe2\x80\x99 products and services.
  • Proficient Computer Software (SW) Skills:
  • Apple Mac equipment and operating systems
  • Specific Functional SW (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Proficient using Spectrophotometer and similar devices.
  • Routine travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
