Canadian Tire is looking for a Principal Enterprise Architect to work collaboratively with cross functional IT and business teams and deliver exceptional solutions to our corporate partners.

What you will do

Be a capable mentor to less experienced architects and provide frequent feedback

Make sound architecture decisions based on expertise (knowledge) of open/industry standards, current and evolving technologies, products, standards, patterns, and approaches

Lead the Architecture Community of Practice. Teach fellow architects how to make and annotate defensible decisions

Lead the development of target state architectures that enable business outcomes and consider the end-to-end flow

Develop capability heat maps by interviewing business and IT stakeholders and evaluating the desired capabilities against the current technical environment.

Review and provide feedback on standards, principles, and design patterns.

Oversee the Architecture Governance function. Enthusiastically participate in Architecture and Technology review boards. Ensure solution architects align to Enterprise Architecture patterns and practices.

Be a strong voice in build vs. buy discussions. Where the decision is to buy, represent EA in the RFx process. Evaluate new technology for fit within existing standards and make recommendations for adoption.

A curious experimenter - reading, collaborating, and doing are mandatory for today\xe2\x80\x99s architect. You believe in continuous learning.

What you bring

10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a large technology environment with progressive architectural leadership roles, preferably in retail, banking, and/or automotive sectors.

Experience with both waterfall and agile delivery practices

Strong background in cloud technologies and cloud architecture patterns

Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to build credibility and collaboration, including developing effective cross-organizational and vendor relationships

Ability to inspire, remove roadblocks, and coach technical teams to reach their full potential

Certification in an architectural framework such as TOGAF or Zachman is a definite asset

Top candidates will have solid knowledge of retail applications and related hardware platforms, operations support, cybersecurity, and cloud environments.

If selected for interview, candidates will be asked to provide samples of executive-level material they have created and presented.
