Your opportunity:

Under direction of the Director, Strategy & Partnerships, the PRiME Program Coordinator will support PRiME\'s mission to elevate research, empower collaboration and create community. This role is ideal for those who enjoy a diverse range of tasks, possess attention to detail, have initiative, and prefer working in a close-knit compactteam. Your strong interpersonal and organizational skills will enable you to successfully navigate a multifaceted network and foster positive relationships with faculty, granting agencies, partner organizations, and collaborators. Utilizing your resourcefulness and attention to detail, you will support interrelated research projects that involve substantial coordination, contributing to the achievement of our goals and meeting time sensitive grant and strategic deliverables.

The successful applicant will take initiative to coordinate day-to-day activities and advance strategic projects. This role will be responsible for the planning and execution for wide range of PRiME initiatives including annual symposiums, networking and other outreach events, meetings, seminars and workshops. Additionally, this position will entail writing news stories and maintaining and growing PRiME\'s social media presence.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating funding application processes, and keeping well-informed on application policies/procedures and key deadlines
  • Utilizing scheduling tools to coordinate meetings, preparing and distributing meeting agendas and materials in advance, taking detailed meeting notes and follow-up on action items
  • Coordinating the schedule for program and event calendars
  • Developing a detailed plan including logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Preparing expense reimbursements
  • Collating and organizing data for various reports
  • Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials to promote events and PRiME programs for various internal and external channels, including social media
  • Tracking and monitoring outreach activities to measure effectiveness
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of combined experience working in operations, administration or research roles supporting initiatives.
  • Experience drafting, editing, formatting information to be included in a variety of written documents, grant applications, website new stories, presentations and preparing reports.
  • Experience planning and coordinating small and large events and meetings with high profile attendees.
  • Experience in scheduling meetings.
  • Experience in taking meeting minutes.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and writing for a web audience.
  • Experience writing and editing articles for different formats (blog, articles, op-ed, peer-reviewed publications, etc.).
  • Experience in preparing, editing, formatting and drafting documents (ex. grant applications, CV, correspondence).
  • Excellent editing skills for web and print communications.
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to create and deliver content of a high quality across a range of formats appropriate to various media.
  • Strong communications skills (oral and written).
  • Detail-oriented, with demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and projects with conflicting deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and quality.
Assets (Nonessential):
  • Working knowledge of grants administration and research funding is an asset.

USW Pay Band 09 -- $65,407 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $83,646. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
