Job Description

Responsibilities:

Deliver small group classes and one-on-one lessons for students in Grades 1-8 across a range of subjects (including English, Math, Science, and more).

Create customized lesson plans that address each student's unique needs and academic levels.

Use dynamic and interactive teaching approaches to enhance students' language skills and build their confidence.

Promptly mark assignments and provide constructive feedback to guide students' progress.

Maintain a supportive and motivating classroom environment that inspires students to achieve their best.

Requirements:

Solid subject expertise: Strong command of English language concepts, capable of teaching reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary effectively.

Background in English literature: Excellent understanding of literature, with a degree in a literature-related field.

Caring and patient demeanor: Passion for working with young learners and dedicated to fostering their academic and personal development.

Effective classroom management: Able to maintain an organized and engaging small group learning setting.

Tailored instruction: Skilled at modifying teaching methods to fit individual student learning styles and provide personalized support.

Collaborative spirit: Ready to work closely with fellow educators and staff, and flexible in taking on additional instructional responsibilities.

Adaptable mindset: Comfortable embracing new teaching strategies, tools, and evolving educational standards.

Strong communication abilities to connect meaningfully with students and parents.

Commitment to cultivating a positive, encouraging, and supportive learning space.

Familiarity with the Ontario curriculum and assessment practices.

Prior teaching or tutoring experience is an asset.
