Overview

We\xe2\x80\x99re seeking a prevention systems specialist for our Prevention Business Product Management team, to provide leadership and participation in projects and initiatives, as they relate to Prevention systems and strategic priorities.

In this exciting role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll have a unique ability to help fulfill our Prevention mandate of promoting the prevention of workplace injuries and disease and contributing to the effectiveness of WorkSafeBC, by providing regular updates, establishing work priorities, presenting information to a variety of audiences and overseeing activities related to systems projects.

WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work primarily your B.C. home and occasionally in our Richmond office

What you\'ll do

  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to processes and best practices related to Prevention systems and operational business processes. Participate fully in business process development while collaborating with subject matter experts to evaluate current needs and identify opportunities for improvement or changes.
  • Provide systems support and guidance pre- and post-implementation and document enhancement requirements and defects.
  • Evaluate new methodologies and software based on project and business strategic requirements.
  • Liaise and collaborate with Innovation & Technology resources such as programmers, UI/UX designers, testers, business analysts, business engineers, scrum masters and architects.
  • Provide input regarding establishing and assigning business priorities, troubleshooting, training and efficiencies.
  • Ensure strategic alignment with Prevention initiatives, objectives and mandates regarding systems are met by reviewing potential risks and ensuring system integration points are known and addressed.
  • Develop and facilitate systems and business process training in conjunction with Innovation & Technology, LDS, and/or business SMEs.
  • Prepare, provide and present reports and recommendations both verbally and in writing.
  • Develop and update documentation as required, including QRG\xe2\x80\x99s, user guides, online manuals and draft communications with a business lens.
  • Utilize expertise in data analysis and reporting to ensure systems data collection is in alignment with business report needs as well as analyze data from report centre and Prevention systems.
  • Participate on DevOps teams or other similar technical and/or development teams as required in a variety of roles, acting as a Prevention SME.
  • Project manage or participate on medium to large sized business systems projects varying in complexity.
  • Lead and monitor user acceptance testing (UAT) while providing support and direction to other business testers as required.
  • Travel may be required to meet and/or train various stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Use well-developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information, influence others, build relationships, and work collaboratively.
  • Apply data analysis expertise to ensure systems data collection and utilization is in alignment with business needs.
  • Stay abreast of knowledge relating to Prevention / OH&S trends, Workers Compensation Act and WorkSafeBC Occupational Health & Safety Regulations, technologies and systems.
  • This position requires above average attendance.
Your background and experience
  • A bachelor\'s degree in a related discipline such as business administration or computer science
  • Minimum 6 years of directly related experience
