SDR hosts a clientele base in excess of 100 customers with over 1000 vendors. Our footprint is in excess of 2 million square feet throughout North America. About the Role:
The Loss Prevention & Security Specialist is an important role within SDR Distribution Services. Working in collaboration with the Director of Security & Loss Prevention you will provide security services and asset protection efficiently and effectively for the entire SDR business throughout North America. Reporting to the Director of Security & Loss Prevention you are responsible for providing expertise and guidance on all operational requirements and processes related to mitigating risks for SDR & our customers\xe2\x80\x99 assets. You will identify opportunities for improvement in process, practice, and security infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • While this role is typically a Monday to Friday position based in one of our Bolton, ON sites, you will be required for after hours on-call situations via phone & email. Your hours of work require flexibility to be on site during various shifts as needed
  • Develop key employee contacts in designated work areas. This effective development of mutual trust with employees will encourage employees to offer information as necessary
  • Prepare incident and investigative reports
  • Develop cases with evidence sufficient to support discharges and/or prosecutions for dishonest acts
  • Complete reports and follow-up in a timely manner as required
  • Documentation / filing as required
  • Prepare an incident review to Loss Prevention Management
  • Operate surveillance equipment. Document and analyze all investigative information
  • Evaluate and assist in compliance of all entrance and exit procedures including Access Controls
  • Provide training to management as needed
  • Perform Facility Audits
  • Photograph / videotape and collect information pertaining to incidents including CCTV system reviews
  • Work in conjunction with the Health and Safety Department on reported incidents
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Education and Experience Required:
  • Criminal or law enforcement degree is preferred however, a College Diploma will be considered
  • You must have a valid \xe2\x80\x9cG\xe2\x80\x9d License with your own transportation throughout the Greater Toronto Area
  • This role may require periodic travel throughout Canada and the USA. As such you must have a valid Passport to enter the USA.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Present a professional manner and positive attitude
  • Available to work flexible hours, including late evenings and on weekends including on call for emergencies
  • Experience with CCTV camera systems and Access Control Software is a must
  • Must be adept at working in a team-oriented environment
  • Possess a valid Ontario Security Guard license.
  • First Aid/CPR certificates are a definite asset
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment deemed necessary to perform this job safely (this may include: gloves, mask and/or face shield, safety footwear etc.)
