Edge Catering, a thriving corporate and event catering company, is seeking an experienced cook to join our events team for the busy holiday season. With numerous events scheduled, this is a perfect opportunity to make some extra money during this festive time! Our custom-built facility features a 5000 sq ft catering kitchen, baking and pastry kitchen, tasting room, and offices.
Position Overview:
This is a casual, seasonal position with flexible scheduling with AM/PM starts, with optional off-site event shifts available.
All off-site event shifts include tips at $5 per hour on top of your regular hourly rate.
General Responsibilities:
- Prepare event menus using provided recipes/instructions
- Execute event menus at various high-end locations around Metro Vancouver
- Adapt to changing work environments and custom menu items
- Collaborate with our team and contribute positively to the work atmosphere
- Follow all recipes and standards
- Organize and maintain freezers, fridges, and event equipment
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of all equipment and workspaces
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a cook or culinary school training
- Food Safe Level 1 certification
- Legal to work in Canada
- Formal culinary training
