We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This is a hands-on cooking position that goes beyond basic prep. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of kitchen operations and a genuine interest in food and quality.
Responsibilities
:
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring vegetables and proteins.
Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
Organize and store food items properly to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
Help with meal preparation for service, ensuring all dishes are ready on time.
Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment regularly.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during busy service periods.
What we look for:
Previous kitchen experience is an asset
A solid understanding of general kitchen work and prep techniques
Ability to follow direction and work independently when needed
Punctual, organized, and able to manage time efficiently
Available for consistent day time shift (approx. 32hrs /week)
