Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Prep Cook, you will assist in meal preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are ready for our chefs to create delicious dishes. This role is essential in maintaining the flow of the kitchen and upholding our standards of food safety and quality.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients for cooking by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables and meats. Assist in the preparation of sauces, dressings, and other food items as directed by the head chef. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation are met. Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying management when supplies are low. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service during busy periods. Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with other kitchen staff. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed. A passion for cooking and a desire to learn more about meal preparation within the food industry.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
