As a Prep Cook, you will be crucial in ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly by preparing high-quality ingredients and supporting our line cooks. You will work behind the scenes, getting everything ready before service begins.

We are currently on the hunt for a
Full-Time Prep Cook
(35-44 hours per week). Full training will be provided, and while experience is not strictly necessary, it is highly encouraged. We need fast, sharp learners who can communicate clearly and hold themselves accountable.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately wash, peel, chop, slice, dice, and portion a variety of ingredients, including vegetables, fruits, and poultry, according to standardized recipes and chef instructions.
Prepare basic components such as sauces, dressings, marinades, and stocks.
Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing food deliveries properly, ensuring all items are labeled, dated, and rotated correctly (FIFO).
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation at all times, adhering strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
Support line cooks by ensuring all necessary ingredients are prepped and readily available before and during service.
Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, mixers, slicers, and other tools.
Contribute to dishwashing and general kitchen cleanliness as needed.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
Skills Needed:
Proven Experience
- Previous experience (e.g., 2+ years) in a kitchen environment, preferably as a prep cook or similar role, is a strong asset.
Exceptional Knife Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency and precision with various kitchen knives.
Food Safety Knowledge
- Solid understanding of food handling, safety, and sanitation practices (Food Safe certification is a must).
Attention to Detail
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in preparation.
Organizational Skills
- Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
Efficiency
- Capable of working quickly and methodically.
Team Player
- Willingness to collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff.
Physical Stamina
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks.
Communication
- Basic verbal communication skills.
