Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in meal preparation and food service, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped efficiently and safely for our culinary team. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety standards and the ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

- Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as directed by the head cook or chef.
- Ensure all food handling and preparation practices comply with food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying management of shortages.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during peak hours.
- Follow recipes accurately to maintain consistency in food quality.
- Participate in daily kitchen operations, including cleaning and sanitizing workstations and equipment.

Skills

- Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food handling practices within the food industry.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used for cooking and food preparation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while maintaining high standards of food safety.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and storage.
- Previous experience in a restaurant or similar food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work under pressure during busy service periods.
