Square Foot Construction, a respected custom home builder, renovator, carriage house, and commercial buildout specialist in the South Okanagan region, is seeking a talented and dedicated Pre-Construction Project and Office Manager to lead our team in delivering high-quality residential and commercial construction projects.
As a Pre-Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for the design, budgeting, and permitting phases of pre-construction with a hand-off at building permit to the Site Super. You will also play a crucial role in translating our clients' vision into reality and communicating selections and design details to the construction team.
As an Office Manager, you'll efficiently handle our day-to-day office operations. You will be the first point of contact with new and incoming leads, as well as the main point of contact with any office or administrative type communications.

Pre-Construction Management Responsibilities:
Design and Permitting:
Prepare building permit applications, liaise with architects, consultants, and clients as required.
Project Planning and Coordination:
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
Budget and Cost Management:
Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Work closely with the team to ensure projects stay within budgetary constraints.
Client Communication and Satisfaction:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and leads, providing regular updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and managing expectations. Strive to exceed client satisfaction through effective communication and project delivery.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and permit requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
Office Management Responsibilities:
Time Management:
Efficiently organize tasks to minimize interruptions to project managers' schedules.
Administrative Support:
Assist with administrative tasks such as license and subscription renewals, general administrative tasks (filing, data entry, correspondence), and document control and contract administration.
HR Support:
Provide support for hiring and onboarding new employees.
Meetings:
Attend weekly meetings with the project manager to ensure alignment and coordination.
Software Proficiency:
Have an understanding of and be willing to learn construction management software.
Empathetic Attitude:
Approach tasks with a positive attitude, handle busy periods effectively, and be available for occasional in-person meetings in Penticton.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field an asset.
Proven experience as a Project Manager or Coordinator in construction, with a strong track record of successful project delivery.
Proven experience in a similar Office Administrative role.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with our clients, subcontractors, and our own team members.
Efficiently and effectively translate communication via emails, text messages, phone calls, and CoConstruct messaging into decisions providing record that they took place.
Proficiency in project management software and tools, specifically CoConstruct and our Google Platform.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques, as well as building codes and regulations specific to different municipalities.
Commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
Experience in marketing, sales, and social media an asset.
Experience in design considered an asset.
Experience with AutoCAD, Revitt, or similar software.
