Sage is seeking an enthusiastic and accomplished Senior PR Manager to support our Canadian business initiatives for a 12-month maternity leave contract. The Senior PR Manager, Canada is a key member of the Corporate Affairs team and will have broad yet focused responsibility for developing and leading a wide range of external communications activities to support the Sage Corporate Affairs strategy in Canada, including integrated campaigns, executive thought leadership opportunities and related PR activities. The successful candidate will work effectively with the wider business including key stakeholders in Marketing and support the senior leadership team. They will be the day-to-day PR lead in charge of managing an external PR agency partner who operates as an extension of the PR team in Canada. In their role, they will help protect the company’s reputation, build brand awareness for Sage in Canada and lead high-impact and creative projects that meaningfully engages audiences and influences purchase consideration for Sage’s suite of software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
External media relations (managed through a PR agency) – Proactive and reactive, pitching and thought leadership, traditional and new media, social media and some work with influencers.
External communications and content development (press releases, key messaging, interview/event talking points, FAQs, etc.).
Management of budget and resources for PR activities, campaigns, and programs.
Coordination with and management of external resources, such as PR agency, and/or freelancers.
Coordination with media and company executives at Sage customer and partner events
Executive/spokesperson coaching and media training, message development, media interview prep and staffing of media interviews virtually and in person.
PR program planning and devising an effective PR strategy at the business unit/segment level, that contributes to overall Canada and North America Marketing objectives

Role Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Marketing required, PR experience preferred
10+ years of relevant Communications and Business experience, tech industry experience preferred
PR experience in a Communications agency or in-house PR team required
Experience working with and supporting senior executives in a corporate communications capacity
Solid media relationships, with the media placements to prove it
Track record of flawlessly executing PR campaigns across media and social channels
Excellent written and oral communication skills, proficient in AP style
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
