Our Saskatoon location is currently seeking a Relief, Power Engineer who will be responsible for operating and maintaining 600HP and 300HP Fire Tube Boilers and related equipment. The role reports to the Power Engineer and Maintenance Manager and works closely with the maintenance team.

Salary

: $47.36 per hour with additional premiums of $0.60/hour for evening shifts and $1.60/hour for night shifts


Schedule:

12-hour rotating schedule when providing relief and reverts to 8-hour shifts on days when not on relief.

How you will make contributions that matter:



Operate and monitor boilers, pumps, compressors, and control systems Maintain boilers, refrigeration, and air compression systems Inspect equipment and systems for leaks, malfunctions, and performance issues Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and preventative tasks Record readings, analyze data, and maintain accurate logs and reports Respond to production calls and system alerts promptly. Support development of operational and safety procedures. Ensure compliance with OH&S, WCB, GMPs, and company protocols. Cover shifts on short notice; available for overtime, weekends, and holidays. Perform other duties as assigned

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:



Hold a valid 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate and refrigeration ticket (required) Hold a valid 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate (asset) Experience operating low pressure boilers and ammonia refrigeration (asset) Previous experience in the food industry or a HACCP-regulated environment Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills Self-motivated and results-oriented; able to work independently with minimal supervision Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to safety Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
