Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.The successful candidate will assist the storage manager to monitor the potatoes in storage; assist in training and supervising staff; and perform maintenance and repair to the building and equipment.Wage range: $23-27 plus OT and Sunday premium, bonuses and clothing allowanceSuccessful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Experience in manufacturing or agriculture with an understanding of the importance of safety in the workplace
• Able to meet deadlines, shift priorities and solve problems
• Mechanically inclined and interested in operating equipment including forklift, dump trucks/tandems, piler, hog, tractor
• Experience or willingness to lead and train people
• Detail oriented, and able to record and communicate data required for decision-making

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the safety program for the site
• Assisting in the day-to-day operation of the storage facility; monitoring ventilation systems and inspecting product
• Operating equipment as well as planning and scheduling maintenance and repairs
• Training, scheduling and supervising seasonal employees
• Coordinating deliveries from growers during harvest
• Keeping accurate food safety records as required for Canada Gap certification
