Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen potato products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States and around the world. We have state-of-the-art processing plants in New Annan PE, Lethbridge, AB, Wheatley, ON and another in Jamestown, ND, with head offices in Dieppe, NB and sales locations in Toronto, Montreal and Boston.

Reporting to the Corporate Storage Manager, the successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a \xe2\x80\x9ccan do\xe2\x80\x9d attitude, responsible for working with the storage manager on storage facility records keeping, monitoring raw quality, and the daily supervision of warehouse staff.

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Experience in the Agricultural field would be considered an asset.
• Excellent communication with demonstrated leadership ability.
• Ability to react quickly to changing requirements and/or unanticipated issues.

• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Detail Oriented.
• Results driven.
• Mechanically Inclined.
• Operation of equipment.
• Strong computer skills, working knowledge of Microsoft office programs, excel, access, Outlook.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the day-to-day operation of storage buildings and ensure all aspects of the long term and outside storages are in proper safe working condition and kept to the Irving Standard.
• Participate in safety calls & initiatives, Hazard ID identification, reporting & resolving as well as maintaining detailed training records.
• During harvest, responsible for the coordination of potato supply and delivery schedules with growers.
• Responsible for daily operation and monitoring of all aspects of the ventilation systems and product throughout the entire storage season to ensure it is of the highest quality when delivered to the customer.
• Ensure only the best quality raw is put into the storages while minimizing any bruising and/or mechanical damage to the product while going into storage in accordance with developed SOPs.
• Ensure all storage equipment is operating safely, at peak performance level and all necessary supplies and parts are in inventory on site.
• Daily supervision of full-time staff, maintenance on equipment, buildings, and planning work schedule, including approximately 50 seasonal Island Holdings employees during filling and emptying of the warehouses which includes setting daily schedules and plans, ensuring safe working conditions, problem solving, and maintaining Irving Standards in the Workplace.
• Ensure all documentation and management of storage records is accurate and up to date.
• Keep accurate and detailed Food safety records as required for Gap, audits, and recertification etc.
• Responsible for creating and managing Island Holdings budget.
• Create, track, and manage purchase orders within the Island Holdings budget.
• Track and manage employee\xe2\x80\x99s work schedules, timecards and payroll.
• Oversee special projects relating to the storages, potato equipment and yard as required.
• Continuous Improvement for storage operations and constantly seeking and implementing new and improved ways to conduct storage operations.
• All other duties assigned by Corporate Storage Manager.

Salary range 52,000- 63,000
