Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.

Reporting to the Storage Manager, the successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a \xe2\x80\x9ccan do\xe2\x80\x9d attitude. Responsibilities include working with the storage manager to monitor raw quality, keep facility records and supervise staff.

This is a progressive role with potential growth into the storage manager role.

Wage range: $23-26 plus OT and Sunday premium, bonuses and clothing allowance

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Excellent communication with demonstrated leadership ability
• Experience in the Agricultural field would be considered an asset
• Ability to react quickly to unanticipated issues
• Results driven
• Able to plan and complete tasks on time
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Detail oriented
• Experience operating equipment
• Strong computer skills and willingness to leverage technology

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the day-to-day operation of storage buildings, monitoring ventilation systems and inspecting product
• Schedule and supervise full time staff as well as up to 40 seasonal employees hired to fill and empty the storage warehouses
• Lead orientation and training for employees
• Participate in safety calls & initiatives, report hazards, maintain detailed training records
• Plan equipment and building maintenance and repairs, ensure inventory of supplies and parts
• Keep accurate and detailed food safety records as required for Canada Gap certification
• Assist with the creation of annual budget, create and receive purchase orders
• Constantly seek and implement new and improved ways to conduct storage operations
• Operate equipment such as tractor, loader, forklift, skid steer and potato handling equipment as needed
