Lake Babine Nation (LBN) is seeking a motivated and organized individual to join our team as the Post-Secondary Education Coordinator.
JOB SUMMARY
The Post-Secondary Education Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and organizing educational opportunities and experiences for students looking to enter posts econdary programs. The Post-Secondary Education Coordinator will work collaboratively with post-secondary institutions and programs to implement culturally safe and inclusive engagement opportunities for students interested in post-secondary education. The Coordinator will play a key role in the Education Department, building relationships with students and providing support and resources to them.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist post-secondary students with funding sources and application processes to educational institutions.
Assist students with the transition to post-secondary.
Create and establish contacts and relationships with various post-secondary institutions.
Assist in monitoring the grades of First Nations students within each post-secondary institution, providing assistance and resources if necessary.
Develop, coordinate, and organize First Nations educational opportunities and experiences for students.
Implement post-secondary education funding policies and procedures in alignment with fiscal year reporting.
Support with strategic planning and budgets in collaboration with the Education Department.
Assists post-secondary students with funding sources and school applications.
Prepares reports to the Education Director
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Post-secondary education in Office Administration, Education, or Business Administration.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an educational administration role, preferably in post-secondary education.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with First Nation communities.
A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Previous experience coordinating educational engagement events and opportunities.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and relationship-building skills. o Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office and M365, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and other technical tools and platforms.
Working knowledge of education program practices and policies, including AANDC policies and procedures.
Understanding of cultural safety in an educational setting.
Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Demonstrates respect, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
Communication: Effectively engages with students, members, staff, and outside contacts.
Planning & Coordination: Manages all elements of post-secondary engagement opportunities for students from concept to delivery.
Professional: Respectful in all communications, maintaining confidentiality and discretion in all interactions; displays professional etiquette in telephone and email communication.
Collaboration: Builds partnerships across institutions and with students.
Cultural Awareness: Integrates cultural values into engagement opportunities.

Pay: $22.43-$33.64 per hour
