Overview:



Oxford Learning Burnaby is hiring a

part-time Education Coordinator

who will take on a hybrid role involving

teaching, admin support, and program coordination

. This is a

summer start position (10-15 hours/week)

with the opportunity to

transition into a full-time leadership role (30-35 hours/week)

in September.

The Education Coordinator plays a key role in both student success and the smooth operation of our centre. From helping students build academic confidence to communicating with families and supporting scheduling and teacher coordination.

Key Responsibilities (Summer - Part-Time):



Teach students in-person (Grades 1-12, mostly English and/or Math) Assist with light admin duties (e.g., organizing student trays, prepping lessons, following up with families) Shadow and support our current Coordinator to learn the role

Key Responsibilities (Fall - Full-Time Transition):



Oversee student programming and scheduling Support, train, schedule and coordinate part-time teachers Communicate with parents about student progress and programming Conduct academic assessments and assist with centre operations Continue teaching during afternoon hours as needed

Qualifications:



Post-secondary education in Education, English, Psychology, or a related field Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience working with children in a teaching or tutoring capacity Comfortable with basic scheduling tools (Excel, Google Calendar, etc.) Friendly, professional, and adaptable

Bonus if you have:



Previous experience in an after-school learning centre or tutoring environment Leadership experience (coaching, mentoring, admin, etc.) Familiarity with the BC curriculum Proficiency in high school Math and/or Science
