Summary of the role
We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to lead a newly funded CIHR research project run by Dr. Claire Kendall at the Bruyere Health Research Institute (Bruyere Health RI).
This project will examine how a place-based framework for health and social data can be used to improve the equity of health services. This will involve interviewing partners and community members to find out how this place-based approach has been used in decision-making by health services and determine the key characteristics of place that affect health services.
Main duties and responsibilities
Schedule and organize participant interviews and/or focus groups
Conduct qualitative interviews and/or focus groups
Analyze findings using qualitative analysis software
Write manuscripts and abstracts related to the project
Manage manuscript publication process
Work with students to conduct environmental scan
Plan and set agenda for project meetings
Additional duties may be added as project progress
Qualifications
PhD in a relevant field (e.g., epidemiology, social sciences, humanities)
Experience conducting qualitative research (e.g., research ethics, conducting interviews or focus groups, thematic analysis)
Organization and project planning skills
Experience with health geography, including spatial analysis or geovisualization, an asset
Fluent in French and English, an asset
